VERY TALENTED TONI WINE was born in Washington Heights, New York on June 4, 1947. She went to grade school there and then attended Music and Art High School in New York. She started studying at the Juilliard School of Music when she was seven, continuing until she was 14. She majored in classical and jazz piano, theory and counterpoint.

Toni has always been interested in music and recalls a Gershwin concert at New York's Lewisohn Stadium, when she was four, as a high point of her early years. She began learning piano after her family had bought one for her older brother. He developed no attraction for the instrument, so Toni took over.

At 16, she became the youngest member of the composing staff when she was signed up by Colpix Records. Her first song to be recorded was "Only To Other People" which was released by the Cookies on Dimension Records. Toni produced the disc date and arranged the song. She has been writing since she was ten, and making demos since she was 14. Her first record release for Colpix as a vocalist was "My Boyfriend's Coming Home For Christmas", which she also composed.

Her favorite sport is bowling. One of her most enjoyable pastimes is listening to new songs on the radio, and then rearranging them to suit her own taste. In addition to music, Toni has also studied modern dance. After finishing high school, she plans to continue her musical education in hopes of becoming a successful composer. If her early promises are an indication of things to come, her eventual goals should be attained with flying colours.
