________________________________________________________________________ Message: 1 Date: Tue, 09 Mar 2004 19:29:12 -0000 From: Bill Reed Subject: Priscilla Paris - R.I.P. Very sad news to report. I phoned Priscilla Paris' brother-in-law this morning to get an update on certain legal issues of the Japanese reissue of Priscilla's "Remembering Billie" solo album that I am working on. I was also calling to set up an interview with Albeth Paris for the Spectropop website. Alas, he informed me, both will have to be delayed for a while because Priscilla died in Paris, France last Friday. The cause of death is not yet known, but both surviving sisters are now in France to oversee the funeral, etc. Thanks to the generosity of Phil Milstein, I have been listening to a lot of Priscilla the past couple of weeks, and have come to fully realize what a great artist she was. Not just as a singer, but also songwriter. What a voice! Despite her professional low profile the last few years, I don't think she considered herself totally out of the "business." She will be missed. As more details are known, I will pass them along. -------------------[ archived by Spectropop ]-------------------
