Well spotted, that gal! You have better eyesight than this old git!

I felt it rude to go through that book with my nitpicker's hat (box)
on, but I did scream silently when I saw Ronnie IDed as Estelle, and
vice versa.

That's a nice review, it does sound good. Rob, or anyone else who
saw her on tv: what's the name of the song she sang? It's been going
through my head, quite a bewitching melody. It might go away after
one more listen, but it's been a long time since something like
that happened.

Hello Sandi,
Thank you so much for the heads-up on this. I will try to listen to
the interview on the Web. I got the book last week and think it's
wonderful. I just can't put it down!

Hi Dave, I just joined the group today. Great site. Thanks for
letting me know about it. The interview is tonight. Now how do I
get it posted on this site?

Hello! Can somebody from this group do me a favor and post this
track to musica, please?
The Barons - I Just Go Wild Inside
It was on CD "Phil Spector Masterpieces Vol. 2" (Japanese bootleg
on A-Side label), it's not available anywhere else as far I know.
I don't have the CD, and I'd like to see the additional info as
given on the CD (if there's any). Writers must be Spector -
Andreoli - Poncia.
Thanks for any help - Steve

After the Youngbloods, Corbitt became a producer (Mad River, Don
McLean, Janey & Dennis...) and a solo artist, often working with
Charlie Daniels. Here's his solo discography:
1 CORBITT (Polydor 24-4003) 1969
2 JERRY CORBITT (Capitol ST-771) 1970
3 CORBITT & DANIELS, LIVE I (Tiger Lily 14001) 1976
4 CORBITT & DANIELS, LIVE II (Tiger Lily 14002) 1976
5 ON THE LINE (Rag Baby) 198?
The 1, 3 & 4 are good, the 2nd better avoided, I don't know the
last one.
He's still musically active, with a new country CD soon to be
released, and has a website at: http://www.jerrycorbitt.com/
Have a nice day

One little bit of info that I can contribute is that he put out 2
or 3 LP.s on Polydor in the early 70's, immediately after the
Youngbloods era. But no doubt there already are 10-12 people who
have told you that... Anything after that time, I'm afraid would be
a dark mystery to me.
Hope you're able to find out a lot more...

Subject: Originals Project
Great news! Music journalist Dick Rosemont has finally carved out a
Web presence for his longstanding -- and impeccably researched --
"Originals Project," in which he seeks to trace the very first versions
of well-known songs. The site is terrific already and yet still growing,
with record pictures, to accompany the respective listings, being
added on a daily basis.
In addition to the database pages which form the site's core, pages
on such sub-topics as "rewritten songs," "dead ends and persistent
rumors" and "nagging questions and want list" make for both
entertaining and informative reading.
A few random samples of Dick's finds:
* She Cried: orig. by Teddy Daryll (Utopia, 1961)
* Just Dropped In: orig. by Jerry Lee Lewis (Smash, 1967)
* Venus In Blue Jeans: orig. by Bruce Bruno (Roulette, 1962)
And so on and so forth. But don't take my word for it; see for
yourself at http://www.originalsproject.com
Dig,

Motown own the Ric Tic and Golden World catalogues and as of yet
have not re issued any on CD.
http://www.soulfuldetroit.com features the story of Golden World
records and opens with a label scan of a Joyce Webb 45. A Golden
World discography can be found here:
http://www.soulfulkindamusic.net/goldenworld.htm
and Davie Gordon might have more to add to the above.

Thanks for that info, Deena. One has to admire a gal who can
point out an error without making it seem like a personal
attack.
I replied:
> Well spotted, that gal! You have better eyesight than I!
But I forgot to say:
Reparata & the Delrons made many recordings at Harry Lookofsky's
studio, World United, situated at 1595 Broadway, not far from the
Brill Building at 1619.
Of course, Harry was also known as Hash Brown, the orchestra leader
on many Reparata & the Delrons records.
Michael Brown of the Left Banke is his son. "Walk Away Renee" and
many (all?) other Left Banke tracks were also recorded at World
United.
Michael Brown played harpsichord and/or piano on some Reparata &
the Delrons cuts.
So the girls are posing across the street from World United in
that photo.
I was in New York very briefly the other week. I probably walked
right past 1595 Broadway, blissfully unaware of its significance.
But I did actually got to meet Mary Reparata O'Leary (nee Aiese)
while I was there.

I know Grady and I've "interviewed" him at least once and spoken
with him more than once.
He was brought in to the Robins during their RCA days - Ten Days
In Jail, etc. Asked if he considers himself a legit Coasters
member, his answer is to point to at least one Coasters LP on Atco
on which at least one Robins cut is included. He considers that
his credential to be a Coasters member - at least, that's the way
I understood his logic.

Sherry Lookofsky told me this was not true. Is there any hard evidence
either way?
Thanks.

By the way, Grady could sing. I have a unreleased record of him fronting
the Robins that is killer-diller.
