I would highly recommend checking out a completely modern band 
by the name of The Rondelles. They have a great 60s/indie girl 
punk sound, with the great girl meets guy kind of lyric. They 
even songs about doing math homework together!!

Jackie DeShannon recorded "Think of Rain" which was a Margo song.  
And the name of the song the Lennon sisters recorded was called 
"I Love".
