Apparently she appeared at The Rocket in North London last year. Would love to hear from anyone who was there. Also, does anyone know whether Rosetta is still making appearances? The Smoke is on "Sidewalk" label and O.C. on "Epic". I have a feeling the October Country was a needle drop copy but I am sure the Smoke was at one time legit, though I believe long out of print. If anyone would like, er, copies, contact me off-list. Michael -------------------[ archived by Spectropop ]-------------------

Message: 6 Date: Sun, 29 Jun 2003 18:02:46 EDT From: David Bell Subject: Re: Dean Martin videos Martin, Are there any Dean Martin video tapes (legit or shady) which feature Connie Francis as a guest? I'm sure that I've read somewhere that on one show she did a song and dance routine called "Cute Little Mini Skirt". Sounds dreadful. Have you seen it? Best wishes, David. -------------------[ archived by Spectropop ]-------------------

Hey la, Yes, Jackie married an American millionaire, went to live in the USA, and then unfortunately lost her voice. Barry St. John told me this, so it's the gospel (ouch!). Message: 8 Date: Sun, 29 Jun 2003 18:13:24 EDT From: Jon Cook Subject: Re: Michael Lloyd Is the October Country re-issue really happening? I don't mean to be cynical, but the The Smoke re-issue has been on the slate a few times and never made it through. The reasons are never clear, though some say it's a lack of agreement on one thing or another between Lloyd and Sundazed. BTW Is there an online site that details Lloyd's efforts in the 60's? The guy was on a hot streak, no doubt - jon cook -------------------[ archived by Spectropop ]-------------------

It will be part of my salute to Canadian musicians and songwriters in celebration of Canada Day July 1st. Chad will join me by phone from his home in Vancouver just after 8 p.m. Pacific time. If folks are unable to listen live, the show is archived for later listening. Cheers. I've advertised extensively for > this but to no avail. Good to have you with us, Ken. I used to have this record, but rather foolishly parted it with it some years ago. However, I remember it very well. Although their voices were still recognisable, the girls sounded very young, slightly cutesy and less soulful than they would on their later records. The production is a bit sparse, but it's still an unusual little item that and one that I should've held on to......was going through one of those "clearing out" phases, I'm afraid. (Never again!!) The flip, BTW, was a little Artie Wayne/Ben Raleigh song called "Don't Wanna Cry Again". Artie, was there a U.S. original of this? Ian -------------------[ archived by Spectropop ]-------------------
