Will Stos, it's GREAT that such enthusiasm is rooted in one so
young! You are to be commended! CHIFFON-A-THON is just great--what
a concept! And here's my Top 10, in no particular order...

Da Doo Ron Ron-- Crystals. My all-time Number One, actually.
Ooh Chang-A-Lang-- Orchids. POWER-POP at its best.
My One and Only, Jimmy Boy-- Girlfriends. (My namesake song...)
He's Sure the Boy I Love-- Darlene Love & the Blossoms. I love
    spoken intros!
He Don't Love Me-- Shelley Fabares. David Gates goes wild!
A Little Love Can Go A Long, Long Way-- Alder Ray. The most perfect
example of how "Saturday Night tent-revival gospel" influenced the
girl-group sound. This is a PERFECT song.
I Wonder Why-- Chiffons. Simple tune; gorgeous production values.
Then He Kissed Me-- Crystals. Shimmers!
The Boy I'm Gonna Marry-- Darlene Love. Darlene at her smoky best...
Oh Donnie-- The Secrets. Greasy, sexy, dirty... fabulous!

Well, that's not really fair to say-- there are SO many-- but
these 10 popped into my head right away. Best of luck with the
radio show, Will! And the rest of you guys, I'd love to read yout
    Top 10 lists, too!

    >speaking of tracey ullman, does anyone know where i can find a copy
    >of sunglasses? i have the hits cd but i`m looking for the 12"
    >extended version.

It's included on the cd of You Caught Me Out. It features a lot of
nice touches that makes it quite worthwhile to have.

EVERYONE REMEMBERS THE SUPREMES, THE CHIFFONS, THE RONETTES, THE
MARVELETTES....HECK, WE EVEN REMEMBER THE MC GUIRE SISTERS! BUT NO
ONE EVER MENTIONS THOSE FORGOTTEN GIRL GROUPS, MANY ONE HIT
WONDERS, WHO GRACED OUR PRESENCE IN THE LATE 50'S THROUGH MID 60'S.
    I RECALL MANY:

PATTY LA BELLE AND THE BLUE BELLES ("I SOLD MY HEART TO THE
JUNKMAN") OF COURSE, WE ALL KNOW PATTY FORMED A 70'S FUNK GROUP,
LA BELLE, AND NOW IS A SOLO ARTIST.

BRENDA AND THE TABULATIONS ("MIXED UP SHOOK UP GIRL")

THE PONYTAILS ("BORN TOO LATE")..WHAT A SONG!

THE COOKIES ("CHAINS/"DON'T SAY NOTHIN BAD ABOUT MY BABY")

ROSIE AND THE ORIGINALS ("ANGEL BABY")...WORD IS THAT "ROSIE"
NEVER HAD A FOLLOW UP SONG BECAUSE ROSIE WAS REALLY A BOY AND HIS
    VOICE CHANGED!!

KATHY YOUNG AND THE INNOCENTS ("A THOUSAND STARS")

I COULD GO ON FOR A LONG TIME WITH THIS ONE. AND DON'T FORGET THE
    FEMALE SOLO ARTISTS LIKE:

CARLA THOMAS ("GEE WHIZ", "TRAMP" (DUET WITH OTIS REDDING)

BRENDA LEE (HIT SONGS TOO NUMEROUS TO MENTION. BRENDA AND CONNIE
FRANCIS WERE TOP STARS AND NO ONE EVER TALKS ABOUT THEM. AMAZING.)

....AND BETTY EVERETT, KETTY LESTER ('LOVE LETTERS"), JACKIE ROSS
("SELFISH ONE"), AND ON AND ON.

COMPARED TO "ARTISTS" TODAY SUCH AS THE ABOMINABLE MADONNA AND
ALANA MORRISETTE (OH, PULEEEEZE!") , THERE SIMPLY IS NO COMPARISON
.......LET'S FACE IT FOLKS. THE GOLDEN AGE OF TOP 40 WAS A ONCE IN
A LIFETIME THING WHICH WE WERE PRIVILEGED TO LIVE THROUGH. IT WILL
NEVER COME AGAIN, SO LET'S HEAR IT FOR THOSE GREAT LADIES OF THE
GOLDEN AGE OF ROCK N' ROLL!

I'm not sure if introductions are traditional for new joiners to
the list so maybe someone could let me know what the protocols are
..... I look forward to reading and learning all kinds of info on
early '60's music, real glad to have found a site where Phil
    Spector lives! Jim
