Hello Again,
I've answered my own question on the Association CDs. I
just heard from the international dept. at WB that they
should be out in about 6 weeks. There were some production
holdups, and WB Japan jumped the gun by announcing the
early release date.
Re: Ballroom. It is available mail order from Mod Land
in Berkeley, CA for those in the US. It was $23.00.

Well, before PolyGram disappears off the face of the earth, I'm
trying to figure out what to buy with my PolyGram employee
discount.
Thus far, I've purchased several CDs that I probably wouldn't have
gotten if not for this list (e.g., Lesley Gore Anthology, Growin'
Up Too Fast, Best of Connie Francis). Another recording artist
that I'm intrigued by, but don't know much about, is Serge
Gainsbourg. Can anybody here give me some details on this guy, as
well as any recommendations?
Thanks.

Francesc Sole was asking about Marginal Records. On the back of
their CDs is an address and it says 'send for catalogue'. Well I
did, in about the second week of August, and I enclosed two IRCs
(I'm writing from the UK, the label is in Belguim).
No reply, so I did it again in September, still no reply. So I
guess they are pretty Marginal.
It's a pity as some of their releases are things I'd really like
to get my hands on. Occasionally individual CDs pop up at Tower in
Piccadilly Circus, and a shop called Spinning Disc stocks some 50s
oriented discs. Also, there was a stall at a Record Fair earlier
this year with a bunch of Marginal CDs. But as to the label
itself....
I'd be interested to hear if anybody has actually made contact.
All the best, Kieron Tyler

Hi!
I've picked up a few girl group compilations from Marginal records
which have been great. The only problem is that my ears seem to
think that the rare songs on the discs have been dubbed from tapes
or vinyl. Nonetheless, you won't find this kind of stuff anywhere
else. The company is based, I believe in Brussels. Since the stuff
is probably not licensed, you might have to pay extremly high
prices to get your hands on any material. If you do some searching
around the net you might find some of their out-put, but otherwise
write to Marginal at Marginal Records PO Box 29 1190 Brussels. The
Complete Dixie Cups is worth the price, and the Ultimate Chiffons
Collection is pretty good too. Ask around about other offers.

I found the Ronettes' (only?) LP in London for 60 Pounds-
which I think is about $100......I understand it's virtually
impossible to get hold of for a reasonable price as it hasn't
been reissued on CD (why??) but there's no way I'd pay that
amount of money for a record, no matter how rare it is.
