All Paul Williams solo discography is reissued on
CD (including his 1970 album on Reprise "Someday
Man"). Most of these reissues are only Japanese, as
usual, so they're quite expensive. There are also
some compilations on CD (ex. "Startrax") of his
greatest hits,... and some other local compilations
in countries like Spain and Australia. You can also
go for his '68 release with the band Holy Mackerel
(which featured his brother as well), it's a great
LP not very difficult to find out there.

2.- The Parade

Can anyone tell me complete list of The Parade
singles on A&M in teh late 60's, apart from
"Sunshine Girl"?

Cheers,

guille milkyway

Dear Steven,

Only in Japan can you find decent Paul Williams
reissues. His Warner album Someday Man as well as
several of his A&M albums are available (some may be
out of print already), and there's a collection called
Paul Williams A&M Remastered Best which will include
his own versions of all the Carpenters, Three Dog
Night, Helen Reddy, Monkees hits he wrote for them.

Australia has also issued a similar collection called
Paul Williams StarTrax. This and some of the Japanese
reissues can be ordered from CD Now or Amazon...the
Japanese A&M Best's got much better sound but is more
expensive.

I personally recommend his first A&M record "An Old
Fashioned Love Song".

Hi Steven

I am new to the list and yours was the first email
I got.

There is a Paul Williams collection that I bought
recently in the UK, released in Australia. It
contains all his best work It is Pickwick release
of an A&M album number is 32582. --

Best Wishes

Richard

Does anyone know who played some of the well-known solo
bridges in 60s songs?

For instance, who played sax on He's A Rebel?
Who played the flute solos on California Dreaming, etc.?

I heard that PF Sloan was the guitarist on the
well-known guitar solo opening on California Dreaming.
Is this true?

Thanks,

Mike

Re: the Red-Bird discography website:
http://redbird.icehost.co.uk/

Although a fine listing, there are some discrepancies
to be noted....

1) There were TWO releases of RB-10-003...One, the
hit, by The Jelly Beans, but previous to that was The
Lovejoys "It's Mighty Nice"/"Payin' (For the Wrong
I've Done)" - No doubt about it as I have both!!

2) Red-Bird 10-068 by the Shangri-Las was also issued
with "Love You More Than Yesterday" as the B-side.
Have this one, too!

3) There was a rumor I heard years ago of a release
by Justin Hayward on Red-Bird 10-049...Anybody ever
hear about that???

Over the years I have managed to find CD replacements
for most of my long-discarded 45's.

One that's always eluded me, however, is Gerri
Granger's single (on London in the UK) "Just Tell Him
Jane Said Hello" (as in the Elvis B-side). Would
somebody out there know if this is available on any
compilation CD?

Someone posted an instrumental mp3 on the e-group
called "Airplane". Who is the artist?

Thanks,

I saw Carol Kaye briefly on A&E's Biography on
January 29, commenting on her work with that night's
subject, who was Glen Campbell.

I would like to say that I very much enjoy Carol's
comments on Spectropop and it was nice to be able to
see her briefly on national television.

Keep it coming, Carol!
