I too would love to hear any relative info somebody could
provide regarding this cd. Trying to find it has been an
exercise in futility.

I don't have it in front of me, but I got it awhile ago
and it's awesome. So far it's only out in Japan but I
hope Poptones puts it out along with the Lee Mallory CD
which I'm searching for....
How about it Mr. Foster?
Take care everyone,
Eric

Subject: The Georgettes
Hello All,
Thank you, Mick, for having so much faith in me! Actually,
you know more than I do. I have their Ebb single, "Oh
Tonight". I do know that they recorded something for the
budget label Jackpot Records, which means they did covers
of popular tunes. The name of the singer, Rickie Page,
at first didn't click from the "He's A Rebel" book.
These facts would explain the studio group tie-in.
Regards,
John

Mick may be surprised top learn that Rickey Page also
had a Nashville connection with the Hit Records label of
sound-a-likes produced by Spar Records during the 60s.
In fact the Hit Records sound-a-like of Be My Baby (the
Ronettes song) is credited to The Georgettes, but I did
not think Rickey was associated with the label that
early (but could have been). She had an album out on
Spar called Harper Valley PTA and her single issued on
Spar is said to have sold around 200,000 copies. Not bad
for a sound-a-like.

I have a 45 that I played as a disc jockey in the late
70's called "You" (Toi'). It's by Jean-Paul Vignon and
Farrah Fawcett. Composers are Panzeri, Pilat, Conti,
Pace, Buggy. The label is Nelson/Barry Recordings,
distributed by T.K. Records. The 45 is a picture sleeve
with Jean-Paul on one side and Farrah on the other.
What's the story behind this record?

Greetings,
Just sat here stroking my box (phnurr). FRANCOISE HARDY'S
"L'INTEGRALE DISQUES VOGUE 1962 / 1967" 4 CD box set.
This bargain only forty smackers. Worth every centime.
The ongoing debate among Spectropoppers about whether or
not any recordings by this enigmatic lady fall into the
Spector Sound category has left me a little baffled. OF
COURSE THEY DO. She was very prolific and recorded in a
variety of styles. She rarely made a bad record and may
well be the classiest female pop star that ever lived. Of
any nationality. Francoise has many CDs available. Get
some. The new "VOGUE YEARS" double CD is a perfect place
to begin. She rather specialised in moody ballads and,
hey, you should hear her purring over a wall of fuzztone
guitar noise. But if your ears are deaf to anything but
Philles copies you should check out the following gems,
for starters:
"POURTANT TU M'AIMES"
"APPRENDS LE MOI"
"ET MEME" (second version is best, the one directed by
Charles Blackwell)
"JE VEUX QU'IL REVIENNE"
"TU ES VENU A MOI"
"BOUT DE LUNE"
"LES PETITS GARCONS"

Subject: Crystals/Metros
Hello All,
In answer to Ton Borsboom's question, The Crystals who
were The Metros were a New York vocal group. I missed my
guess with the Indigo single. It is probably the same
artist as the one on Mercury since they are both
instrumentals. I didn't know the title of the Indigo
single, so I guessed it might have been "Vampire". If
you're still not convinced, I can call Don Cruz, who was
in the Crystals/Metros and ask him, but I'm reasonably
sure there's no connection.
Regards,
John

Hello, all:
I was wondering if anyone here has read the July issue of
Car & Driver.
There is a great article about Phil Spector and his old
Cobra and the court case that surfaced when the car was
sold.
