Subject: David Hemmings
I was sorry to learn of David Hemmings' death on a Romanian
film set. Can't help thinking Eastern European medical care
is not perhaps adequate to protect heavyset older folks doing
demanding creative work. I had hoped one day to learn the
inside scoop on his interesting album made in collaboration
with several Byrds, "David Hemmings Happens." Strange, in
light of his off-key vocals on that disc, to read in his obit
that he was a child vocal prodigy. It can't have been easy to
completely shed that kind of training. Hmmm....
