I see nothing wrong with a crowd of music biz folk dressing up, drinking a
few beers and giving out 'awards' to their pals ... but should anyone take it
seriously?

Great memories indeed, Clark -- and thanks for sharing them. I don't
remember the "mini spins" of CFL but I bet they were mind-blowing.
I myself didn't really start paying attention to the Top 40 until the end
of '67, but I think you're right about Lujack going over to 890; he kept
the younger set listening with his insane humor. I recall (albeit vaguely)
the remotes from The Cheetah Lounge.
Maybe I should ask Bob Stroud on 97.1 to play a few of those for his
Sunday morning flashback show (if he can possibly find them). I have
the December's Children 1970 album on Mainstream. They did excellent
"heavy folk-rock", and I knew they weren't the "Backwards and Forwards"
band but I didn't know there were at least three groups with that name,
on seven or eight different labels.
