Just bought a ticket for the 11 pm show tomorrow night (AUG 2) at BB
KINGS. Show features THE ZOMBIES, PETER & GORDON (first time playing
together in 35 yrs), the FAB FAUX, BILLY J. KRAMER, and David
Letterman's PAUL SCHAEFFER. Probably won't get home until 2 am or
later, so give me a little time to file a report.
MIKE SMITH, of the DAVE CLARK 5, is paralyzed from the chest down b/c
of an accident in his home in Spain; recently taken 'off the tube'
(thank God), has limited use of one arm.
I suspect I'll be feeling GLAD ALL OVER.
It's a good cause.
Maybe see some of you there?

In.sane! I only wish there weren't those weird sound effect
interruptions in that last chorus, 'cos this could be a certified
floofiller otherwise. Must ... find ... 45 ...

Tony Burrows was a true journeyman. I remember a time when he had
three records in the charts under different names. And on one
occasion appeared on "Top of the Pops", the BBC weekly show, as both
a part of a duo singing "Gimme dat Ding" and as part of another band
(could it have been Eddystone Lighthouse?) with a swift change of
costume. I worked with him for two weeks in 1966 and he was charming.
He was part of the IVY League at the time. Great days and some unsung
talent.

Art Laboe will turn 80 this Sunday (8/6). Those who you who
appreciate what Art has done to keep the Oldies But Goodies alive,
can send him a card at Original Sound, 7120 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood,
Ca.. I understand that on that day Art will be doing what he loves
best: his radio show (streaming Sunday nites 6-midnight PST at
killeroldies.com).
