Message: 4 Date: Sun, 22 Jun 2003 01:35:09 -0000 From: Mike Edwards Subject: Orbison; "Country" Paul "Country" Paul comments on one of my choices for PM's Roy Orbison related CD: > David Box - If You Can't Say Something Nice (Candix) 1962 > Written by Roy Orbison-Joe Melson-Ray Rush As far as I know, this is not out on a CD, even a boot, yet. I have posted a copy to musica. It is a sublime 45. If you cannot play musica, let me know and we'll work something out. On the Orbison kick, I'm surprised no one picked up on the Velvets or Gene Thomas. Gene's "Baby's Gone" was a # 84 hit in 1963 and like "..Something Nice" it is a connoisseurs' Orbison knock-off. It was a real pleasure to meet you and your good lady, Paul. "Country" Paul did a great job at Friday's Shindig Party and left an influence. Best to all, "Haystacks" Mike -------------------[ archived by Spectropop ]-------------------
