Message: 2 Date: Sun, 06 Jul 2003 16:04:56 -0000 From: Tony Leong Subject: Murray The K Live LP Hey group: Years ago in an oldies vinyl store, I once saw an LP of a live Murray The K Show (obviously taped in late 1965). I distinctly remember seeing the listing for the Royalettes doing "It's Gonna Take A Miracle", Shangri-Las singing "I Can Never Go Home AnyMore", and the Young Racals (I think doing "Aint Gonna Eat My Heart Out..."). Does anybody know of this LP??? Does anybody HAVE this LP??? Can anybody tell me what else was on this LP? I am curious, since I never saw this LP again!!!. I already have the 1963 and '64 Holiday Shows (well, snippets from them) on CD, and they are a HOOT!!!!! Tony -------------------[ archived by Spectropop ]-------------------
Message: 3 Date: Sun, 06 Jul 2003 18:24:48 -0000 From: Nick Archer Subject: Help me identify a song? I just posted a song to musica that I recorded reel-to-reel in the late 70's. Does anyone know the title/artist/album? We used to play it on the air, but I never had access to artist info. Message: 4 Date: Sun, 06 Jul 2003 19:36:17 +0000 From: Stuffed Animal Subject: Cheryl, Kathleen and Patrice - Full Throttle! Talking of girl groups that need to appear on CD . . . I'm all for an "Ultimate Chiffons" compilation, but please let's not forget about Josie and The Pussycats! I'd like to see Ace, Westside or Castle tackle the Pussycats catalog (it's available through Rhino/WEA) in a way that brings Patrice Holloway's choicest Capitol sides together with her awesome work with television's sexiest cartoon band. I know that both Danny Janssen and Sue Sheridan (songwriters and producers for the 1970 group) want to see the tracks reissued properly. Rhino, it seems, just dropped the ball! They never did anything other than the limited edition CD on their Handmade label. Don't anybody try to tell me that girl group collectors wouldn't be interested in a Patrice Holloway/Josie CD compilation . . . they'd snatch up copies like they were $20.00 bills. Come on, let's get it done, then . . . who's up to the challenge? Mick? Malcolm? Tony? Phil? Stuffed Animal -------------------[ archived by Spectropop ]-------------------
