Message: 1 Date: Tue, 12 Oct 2004 17:47:31 +0100 (BST) From: Philip Hopson Subject: Re: L. David Sloane Anyone heard or got a copy of a British version of "L. David Sloane" by London-based singer (and British ace session singer) Kay Garner on Pye? (Kay's only 45 rpm release (1968). -------------------[ archived by Spectropop ]-------------------
Message: 2 Date: Tue, 12 Oct 2004 11:58:18 +0000 From: Phil X Milstein Subject: something to SMiLe about Wasn't Mike Love's primary objection to "Smile" that he didn't hear any hits in it? Well today he finally eats those words, as the "Smile" remake enters the Billboard Album Chart at No. 13, which must be sweet vindication indeed to Brian Wilson. It won't be long before I get to bask in the glow myself, as I've got tickets to see the live version this Thursday. Yeah, --Phil M. -------------------[ archived by Spectropop ]-------------------
